Siena College <3s Netflix

Posted By Allison Turcio | August 14, 2015

As much as the Siena community is constantly on the go—playing ball, running, swimming, researching, interning, studying, traveling—we also love us some relaxing downtime in front of the TV.

Siena Loves NetflixOne of the many things that's a constant at Siena: students and faculty alike are always swapping notes about their latest Netflixathons (that's a thing, right?). So we thought we'd share with you some of the most talked about shows on campus. What better way to bond immediately with a fellow Saint than by bringing up Coach Taylor's awesomeness?

Saints love...

Friday Night Lights. Set in the fictional town of Dillon, Texas, FNL is an addicting drama about a high school football team, their families and their relationships. Packed games. Great athletes. Cool coaches. We can relate...

Breaking Bad. The AMC hit show about a chemistry teacher-turned-criminal-mastermind goes completely against our Franciscan spirit of service for others...but it's fun to watch anyway.

Mad Men. So many of us regularly queue up episodes of the 1960s-based Mad Men on quiet nights, not just our hard-working marketing majors who are planning to hold careers in advertising.

24. He wants the world to be a better place. Saints want the world to be a better place. And federal agent Jack Bauer packs a lot into one day. He's just our kind of guy. (But seriously, does he ever stop to eat?)

Grey's Anatomy. Siena pre-meds have gone on to medical schools like Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine, Tufts University School of Medicine and, where Derek Shepherd aka Dr. McDreamy went, Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. Just one of the many reasons why we're invested in Seatte Grace's doctors and cases.

Downton Abbey. Not to be confused with downtown Albanywhere you can find plenty of fun things to do, great dining options and a wealth of job opportunitiesDownton Abbey is a British series about the Crawley family and their servants. It's probably not the only reason why so many Saints study abroad in England, but it is a good show.

Friends. This one's obvious; the hilarious sitcom about six twentysomethings in Manhattan will just never get old. Also, community is really big at Siena. (Okay, that link was kind of a stretch...)
