Food Talk: Where Siena Students Take Their Parents To Dinner

Posted By Donna Murphy | February 17, 2017

One thing Siena students never have to worry about in the Capital Region is finding really good food—something that's probably important to you as a prospective student, right? So, we bring you a new series to our blog: Food Talk. Whether it's our favorite delivery spots or where to get brunch, we'll be sharing all things food here. In our first of the series, check out a few places Siena students like to take their parents to dinner when they come to visit.

Innovo.jpgInnovo Kitchen
1210 Troy Schenectady Road, Latham
Just a few minutes from campus, this American gastropub is all about fun energy and innovative meals, perfect if Mom and Dad are big foodies. The menu offers up an array of "sannys"—from the salmon burger to the Icelandic lamb burger—to larger plates like the "picnic chicken" and the scallops with a champagne mango puree.

Bellini's Italian Eatery
624 New Loudon Road, Latham
Looking for some authentic Southern Italian food and a cool, jazzy ambiance? Bellini's is your place. Right down the street from us, Bellini's makes awesome pizza (try the breaded eggplant) and their classico dishes, like the chicken parm, are big enough to take home leftovers for the next day.

Milano Restaurant
594 New Loudon Road, Latham
Known for its Northern Italian cuisine, Milano is another classy place where students bring their parents for more of an upscale experience (although, jeans are still totally fine here...just make sure they're nice ones!). From calamari to linguine alla vongole, bruschetta to bistecca, their menu does authenticity right.

PumpStation.jpg

Albany Pump Station
19 Quackenbush Square, Albany
For those who enjoy a good, local brew (we're talking parents and students 21 and older, of course), the historic and award-winning C.H. Evans Brewery at the Pump Station is a big hit. Burgers, pub sandwiches, a rotating drink menu and casual atmosphere—you can't go wrong.

Getting hungry? Why not take a visit up to Siena with your folks and grab some food during your stay? We'd love to see you.
