From all of us at the Siena College admissions office, we wish you a healthy, happy, relaxing holiday filled with good cheer, lots of laughs and some great Netflix marathons. 

Since you already know how much the Siena community loves the Capital Region year-round, we changed it up for this post. See what a few local celebs told us were their favorite things about the holidays in our neck of the woods. Spoiler alert: they love it just as much as we do.

In the last few months, you've found out why Siena was the perfect choice for these Saints—a Capital Region native, a women's soccer player, a transfer student and more. But when we checked our list (and checked it twice), we discovered that one very important Saint was missing.

Among the many things Siena College President Brother Ed Coughlin is known for—from his steadfast belief in social responsibility to his passion for higher education—it's his impressive kitchen skills that you'll hear a lot about this time of year. And on that note, get ready to start your ovens.

Not too long ago (for some of us!), we were in the same shoes as you: excited at the thought of attending a private college, but having our daydreams often interrupted by that whole tuition thing. Guess what we eventually discovered? 

Siena offers more than 70 clubs and organizations for students to get involved in, and every single one is pretty awesome. To introduce you to some of our most popular, unique and just plain cool offerings, we're launching a new series here on our blog, Inside Look. The best part is you'll get to know more about the clubs, their missions and activities from their members' points of view. First up, Outing Club. 

Not sure what to major in when you head off to college? There are two things you should know. First, you don't have to choose yet! And second, if you're looking for a college where starting out undecided is an exciting thing, look no further. At Siena, we don't even refer to those students as "undecided" or "undeclared." We call them: "exploring." Exploring Science, Exploring Business or Exploring Liberal Arts—because really, being undecided is about being open to discovery.

There's no question that this time of year is about much more than just turkey trots, football games, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie (although how amazing is the one in this pic?). It's about showing appreciation for all the good things in your life, as well as about serving those who are lonely or less fortunate. What's it like to be at Siena around Thanksgiving time?
